Starting and ending in the vibrant city of Marrakech, this trip takes you on a journey through Ourika, a lush valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, and to Imlil, a picturesque village known as the gateway to Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. You'll also cycle through winding roads with incredible views, passing green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and rural landscapes that will leave you in awe.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech - Explore the Red City

  • Elevation at Finish (Ourika): 1,466 meters (4,810 feet)

Activities: Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will assist with your transfer to your hotel. After settling in, spend the afternoon discovering the charm of this historic city. Wander through the lively streets of the medina, browse the bustling souks, and visit Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the vibrant heart of Marrakech. Explore Majorelle Garden, a peaceful oasis, and marvel at the intricate design of the Bahia Palace. Enjoy a delicious traditional Moroccan dinner, featuring dishes like tagine, couscous, and mint tea at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Marrakech to Ourika - First Ride into the Atlas Mountains

The route offers a combination of gravel roads and paved paths, with gentle climbs out of Marrakech. Along the way, you will pass through charming Berber villages, where you can enjoy scenic views of fields, orchards, and distant mountain peaks.
Once you reach Ourika, known for its Setti Fatma waterfalls, you’ll have time to explore the picturesque valley. Stroll along the river, enjoy the local cafes, or take a short hike to the waterfalls. The valley’s natural beauty will be the perfect introduction to the majesty of the Atlas Mountains.

Day 3: Ourika to Imlil – Deep into the Atlas Mountains

  • Distance: 40 km (25 miles)

Today, cycle 40 kilometers deeper into the Atlas Mountains as you head from Ourika to Imlil. The route presents a significant climb of 1,200 meters, with gravel roads and steep inclines that wind through traditional Berber villages and terraced fields. As you ascend, take in the stunning views of the surrounding valleys and snow-capped peaks.
Upon reaching Imlil, a village nestled at the base of Mount Toubkal, take time to explore the village or relax. Imlil is a serene, peaceful place that offers a great spot to unwind before continuing your adventure.

Day 4: Imlil to Marrakech – Descending Back to the City

The final leg of your adventure takes you back to Marrakech, a thrilling 70-kilometer descent through the Atlas foothills. The route offers fantastic views of the mountains, valleys, and surrounding landscapes, passing through Berber villages along the way. Expect fast downhill sections with a few short climbs.
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll have some free time to relax and explore more of the city. Consider visiting the famous Jardin Majorelle or indulging in a traditional Moroccan hammam.

Day 5: Departure from Marrakech
